Women of the World
Friday, April 28, 2017
Women of the World was born from a dream to bring women musicians from across the globe onto a common creative platform. Hailing from Italy, Japan, Haiti, and India, Women of the World blend their voices in over 29 languages! The unique music that stems from this cross-pollination of genres, rhythms, and global sounds is borderless and spirited, carrying the undeniable message of unity.
Reigning a cappella champions, they’ve received accolades from Grammy-winning vocalist Bobby McFerrin, who called them, "Beautiful, spirited, loving…wonderful!"
A "Baby Shower" benefiting Hope’s Door Domestic Violence shelter is planned for this event. Please bring donations of baby products such as diapers, wipes, and new baby clothing to the performance.
Story Cloth Art Exhibit
Before and after the concert, enjoy a textile art exhibit in the Jewett halls, "This is my Home Now." Artisans For Hope and the Idaho Commission on the Arts collaborated on this project that helps people understand the hard road our new citizens traveled to find refuge. Their unwavering hope for their new home fuels the hard work of adjusting to our American way of life.
